Enerģētiķis

The proposal for the Salaspils Cultural Center 'Enerģētiķis' design competition envisions the reconstruction of the existing building, preserving and maximising its volume and cultural significance. The aim is to transform it into a contemporary, fully functional, and user-friendly cultural space that will serve as the new city center.

The architectural image of the building is concise, respecting the existing structure while incorporating principles of energy efficiency. Its architectural, spatial, and functional core is the existing large multifunctional hall. The main facade material is high-quality dolomite sheeting—a reference to the local mineral found in Salaspils.

A key element of the design is the landscaping concept for the entire block, which opens the surrounding areas of Enerģētiķis for active public use, creating a vibrant, green urban space rich in functions.
The landscaping proposal was developed by 'Landshape' Ltd.
