Two-family residential building is constructed as the object of environment, taking into account individuality of building site and the territory of national town planning monument – Pardaugava. Configuration of the building is established in general plan considering cardinal points and local building restrictions. Building is constructed as a sculptural composition. Construction’s geometric shape and orientation at building site provides an appropriate insolation for bedrooms, kitchen and living room, from which impressive view is planned to the courtyard. Existing topography plays a significant role to the building’s composition. It is used to ensure private courtyard and another buildings would subordinate around courtyard. Construction ‘growth’ out of existing topography and becomes to two-storied at the West side. Building’s composition towards Talsu street is constructed similarly to the existing buildings. In this way is possible to get closer to national town planning monument’s principles for specific territory. Construction towards North side is blocked at the border of building site, thereby smoothing out difference of topography and creating maximum use of land at South side for better insolation of the building and courtyard. Courtyard to the North side is modeled in order to step back from the tree’s root system, in this way providing coexistence of the building and the tree.
